External antiparasitic in palatable tablets for oral use in dogs. Indicated for the treatment of dogs with infestations of fleas, ticks, and mites of domestic, sarcoptic, and otodectic mange.
Effect lasts for up to 12 weeks.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Guardian is indicated for use in canines.
For adult dogs and puppies over 8 weeks of age weighing more than 2 kg.
It is indicated for the control of flea infestations (Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis) and tick infestations (Ixodes spp., Rhipicephalus sanguineus adults and immature stages with immediate activity, Amblyomma spp.). It is also indicated for the control of fleas in cases of flea allergy dermatitis (FAD).
Guardian is further indicated for the treatment of demodectic mange caused by Demodex spp., sarcoptic mange caused by Sarcoptes scabiei, and otodectic (aural) mange caused by Otodectes spp.
In addition to being effective in killing external parasites after treatment, this compound may reduce the risk of transmission of pathogens, such as the cestode Dipylidium caninum, from infested fleas to susceptible dogs.
Target parasites include ticks (Ixodes spp., Rhipicephalus sanguineus adults and immature stages, Amblyomma spp.), fleas (Ctenocephalides felis and Ctenocephalides canis), and mites (Demodex spp., Sarcoptes scabiei, and Otodectes cynotis).

The dosage is 25-56mg of fluralaner/kg of body weight, within a weight range. Administer the appropriate tablet according to the animal’s weight, based on its presentations. If the dog weighs more than 40 kg, administer a combination of two or more tablets adjusted to its body weight.
Guardian 250 is indicated for dogs weighing 4,6 to 10 kg.

Do not break the tablet.
it should be supplied with the food.
For flea infestations, administration is at 12-week intervals. The effect on fleas can be observed 8 hours after a flea feeds, and on ticks, 12 hours after a tick feed.
For the treatment of demodectic mange caused by Demodex sp., a single dose should be administered. In these cases, it should be noted that demodectic mange is a multifactorial disease, so it is recommended to treat any underlying condition.
For the treatment of sarcoptic mange caused by Sarcoptes scabiei and ear mange caused by Otodectes spp., it should be administered in a single dose. For the treatment of tick infestations (adult and juvenile Ixodes spp. and Rhipicephalus sanguineus, Amblyomma spp.), results may be observed 12 hours after the tick has fed.
Follow the instructions of the attending veterinarian.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Fluralaner is an acaricide/insecticide that inhibits the gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) receptor and glutamate-gated chloride channels, with significant selectivity for insect neurons over mammalian neurons. This results in the induction of uncontrolled neuronal activity, leading to paralysis and death of fleas and ticks.
