Antifungal for dogs, cats and rabbits<\/strong><\/p>\n

Griseofulvina 250<\/strong>\u00a0is an antibiotic which spectrum covers especially Microsporum, Trichophyton and Epidermophyton fungi.
\nIt is absorbed mainly in the duodenum, followed by the jejunum and stomach. The degree of absorption depends on the size of the particles so Griseofulvina is micronized to double its absorption.
\nGriseofulvina has affinity with the skin so once absorbed, it goes to the blood where it is transported to the epidermis and deposited in basal cells. When these cells keratinize, they retain enough drugs to inhibit the dermatophyte growth .
\nThe fungistatic action begins 4 days after starting treatment, 15 – 30 days after starting th etreatment the antibiotic appears on the entire surface of the epidermis. This estimate of time depends on the thickness and growth rate of the skin.<\/p>\n

\nMicrocrystalline griseofulvin……………….. 250.0 mg
\nExcipentes\u00a0 q.s. …………………………………… 600.0 mg<\/p>\n

Indications \/ Uses:<\/strong>
\nCutaneous mycoses caused by fungi Trichophyton, Microsporum and Epidermophyton\u00a0 in both dogs and cats, laboratory animals and exotic.
\nAdministration and dosage:<\/strong>
\nOral administration.
\nCanines<\/span>: 20 – 40 – 60 mg per kg for 3 to 6 weeks.
\nFelines<\/span>: 30 – 60 mg per kg per day for 4 weeks.
\nGuinea pigs<\/span>: 30 – 40 mg per kg per day for 3 to 4 weeks.
\nChinchillas<\/span>: 30 – 40 mg per kg per day for 4 to 5 weeks.
\nIn the dog and cat you may administer single doses of 150 mg\/kg a week accompanying a high fat diet instead.
\nIt is recommended to apply Griseofulvina topically (Griseofulvina Cream) as an adjunct in the treatment, avoiding the spread of spores.<\/p>\n

Contraindications \/ Precautions:<\/strong>
\nAvoid use in pregnant animals and in animals under 60 days old.<\/p>\n

Presentation:<\/strong>
\nBox with blister containing 20 tablets.<\/p>\n

Keep between 5 \u00b0 C. and 35 degrees c.
\nKeep away from direct sunlight, moisture and heat.
