While its most remarkable is its antimycotic activity altering the permeability of the cell membrane of yeast and fungi susceptible, blocking ergosterol synthesis (the primary cell sterol fungi), deterioration of other enzyme systems with an overall effect of a disorder of cell membrane with cell death.<br \/>\nImidazoles sensitivity varies greatly among various strains of yeast and fungi, but natural or acquired resistance is not common.<br \/>\nKetoconazole is the most active of the imidazoles antimycotics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FORMULA | Each tablet contains:<\/strong><br \/>\nKetoconazole&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230; 200 mg<br \/>\nExcipients &#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;. 500 mg<\/p>\n<p><strong>INDICATIONS:<\/strong><br \/>\nRingworm, mucocutaneous candidiasis, coccidioidomycosis blastomycosis, histoplasmosis,\u00a0systemic cryptococcosis and aspergillosis.<br \/>\nSusceptible organisms: Blastomyces dermatitidis, Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, Capasulatum Histoplasma, Candida species, Coccidioides immitis, Cryptococcus neoformans, Aspergillus fumigatus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ADMINISTRATION AND DOSAGE<\/strong><br \/>\nIn dogs 5 to 20 mg\/kg every 12 hours until remission of symptoms.<br \/>\nFeline 5 to 10 mg\/kg of every 12 hours. The suggested dose administration is subject to the discretion of the attending veterinarian.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PRECAUTIONS:<\/strong><br \/>\nDo not administer\u00a0<span id=\"result_box\" class=\"short_text\" lang=\"en\" tabindex=\"-1\"><span class=\"hps\">simultaneously<\/span><\/span>\u00a0with anticholinergic agents.
